Physical Therapy
Physical Therapists are movement experts who improve quality of life through prescribed exercise, hands-on care, and patient education. At Tater Tots, our Physical Therapists evaluate and treat individuals from birth-18 who have injuries, disabilities, or other health conditions and need habilitation or rehabilitation services in order to most functionally participate in their day-to-day activities. Our Physical Therapists work with patients and families to:
- Promote optimal motor development
- Maximize independence and function
- Treat orthopedic concerns
- Facilitate progress in children with neurological disorders
- Evaluate for special equipment and orthotic needs
Examples of diagnoses that may result in these areas of concern include:
- Cerebral Palsy
- Down Syndrome
- Muscular Dystrophy
- Spinal Muscular Atrophy
- Idiopathic Toe Walking and other atypical gait
- Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Torticollis (with and without plagiocephaly)
- Scoliosis
Speech Therapy
Speech-Language Pathologists are communication experts who work to prevent, assess, diagnose, and treat speech and language disorders. At Tater Tots, our Speech-Language Pathologists focus on working with children from ages birth-18, and their families, in order to help them most effectively and efficiently communicate their needs, wants, feelings, and ideas to others. Our Speech-Language Pathologists work to evaluate and treat children who are referred for:
- Articulation and phonological disorders
- Childhood Apraxia of Speech
- Expressive language disorders
- Receptive language disorders
- Voice disorders
- Fluency disorders
- Pragmatic/social language disorders
- Selective Mutism
- Alternative and augmentative communication
- Traumatic Brain Injuries: Executive functioning skills, participating in activities of daily living.
Occupational Therapy
Occupational Therapists are expers in gross motor movements, sensory processing, and emotional regulation. At Tater Tots, our Speech-Language Pathologists focus on working with children from ages birth-18, and their families, in order to help them most effectively and efficiently participate in their activities of daily living both in the home and in more public settings like school. Our Occupational Therapists work with children and families to:
- Develop hand strength and coordiation for activities like writing, using scissors, and buttioning clothes
- Help children manage how they react to sensory input, such as sound, touch, and light, to improve regulation
- Teach independence in daily routines like feeding, dressing, and bathing
- Adapt a child’s environamrny to make activities of daily living more accessible and help children obtain more independence.

- Autism Spectrum Disoder
- Attention-Defecit Hyperactivity Disorder
- Cerebal Palsy
- Sensory Processing Disorders
- Down Syndrome

Feeding Therapy
Along with their training in communication disorders, Speech-Language Pathologists are also trained in the diagnosis and treatment of feeding and swallowing disorders. At Tater Tots, our Speech-Language Pathologists focus on working on oral feeding and drinking skills with children and their families. Some areas that our Speech-Language Pathologists may be able to help families are with:
- Infant oral feeding development
- Coordination of suck-swallow-breathe pattern
- Adjusting flow rate
- Adjusting positioning for feeds
- Transitioning to solid foods
- Developing efficient and effective chewing skills
- Appropriate foods for developmental level
- Oral exploration
- Sensory feeding difficulties
- Food exploration
- Reducing oral defensiveness
